Seeking a Heart Like His Week 6

1.  God didn't want David to build his house because David had been a man who had seen so much violence.  God wanted to build His house during a time of peace so He chose to use David's son Salomon instead. He also said to David that instead, God would build David a house.  What a blessing!

2.  Every now and then we enjoy a moment void of doubt and full of mystery when we're overwhelmed with humility yet stunned with possibility.

3.  Righteousness and justice are two qualities that will make us more like Christ, and less like us (2 Samuel 8)

4.  When David called Mephibosheth to his table he showed some very God like qualitites:
      A) His loving-Kindness
      B) His initiation of the relationship
      C) His complete acceptance
      D) His calming Spirit
      E) His delight in restoration
      F) His desire for another son

5.  When David was fleeing from Saul, the king Ammon helped him and so now David wanted to return the kindness to Ammon's son but Ammon's son took it as malice.  David always had a sympathy for those suffering and those who had shown him kindness.

6.  Just like David took on the people who humiliated his own, God also takes on our enemies when we've been shamed.
